Ralph Bartlett is the 2020 Champion of Champions. The first player out recorded the best score of the day as Chesham and Ley Hill hosted their premier tournament of the year. Ralph carded a nett 64 which was one shot clear of Paul Tipper, Paul Milward and Nigel Ford. Tipper’s round was also the lowest gross (74). The leading lady was Irene Crook with a nett 73.
The weather was wonderful but the soft conditions meant the course was playing quite long, and it didn’t help that the tee’s were a long way back and the pins tucked away behind the bunkers. It was however a fair set-up and the greens were running fast and true.
After the round Ralph thanked his two playing companions for keeping his spirits high during a mid-round wobble, and he also credited the ground-staff for their fine work on the course.
