Our new Captain’s began their year of office with the traditional Captain’s Drive In ceremony. Each captain drives a ball down the first fairway and we hold a sweepstake to guess where their ball will finish! All the money raised is put towards a charity specially selected by the captains.
Alongside the Drive-In we run a Florida Scramble for both members and visitors which, as usual, was a great success. Ian Morris, Bill Salkheld and Irene Crook all drove off followed by 11 teams of 4. Brian Puddephatt, Matt Yerrrell, Paul Eames and Richard Lewis won the Florida Scramble. All prizes were donated by Ian Morris (Mens Captain) and we raised over £460 that will go towards the two Captains Charities – Alzheimers Research UK, South East Ambulance Service (First Responders) and the clubhouse refurbishment fund.
