Chesham & Ley Hill Golf Club has broken the mould with its recent appointment of Annette Roe as its first-ever Lady President.
Annette, elected by the Club’s Vice-Presidents, has been an active member for many years and has held key positions on various committees as well as being the Lady Captain on two separate occasions. She has also represented the Ladies in many inter-club Matches and competitions.
Outgoing President, Brian Puddephatt, said “We are delighted to appoint Annette as our new President and this appointment demonstrates our commitment to encouraging the increasing participation of ladies in golf.”
Annette said: “It is a great honour to be chosen as the first Lady President in the Club’s history and I have been overwhelmed by the positive support that I have received from members following my appointment”.
“During the next two years, my aim is to continue to uphold the office of President and the best traditions of the Club in the same pleasant and welcoming manner as my predecessors”.
Annette is hopeful that her recognition as President of Chesham & Ley Hill Golf Club might actively encourage other ladies to take up the game and to join her at this friendly club .
