Golf, in the Covid world!

With the Covid19 rules slightly relaxed, and other sports still in lockdown, Golf has never been so popular! Membership applications are at an all time high and green fees are experiencing their own pandemic!

But the days when we could remove the pins, rake the bunkers and socialise in the clubhouse seem a distant memory. The new normal requires us to social distance and play without competition, but we are enjoying our release from confinement and the course somehow feels more appealing!

This week saw another step towards the old normal. The rules were further relaxed to allow us to play in three or fourballs. We also flipped the holes to their correct orientation and added foam lagging into the base of the cup so that the ball can still be removed without touching the flagstick or the cup.

In July the government have indicated their intention to reopen the hospitality industry. Hopefully this will enable us to reopen our clubhouse and take another step towards the old normal.
