The Government have changed their Corona Virus guidance and we are delighted to announce that we will soon be re-opening the course. We aim to re-open on Saturday 16th May, but that assumes that we can implement the necessary safety instructions by the end of the week.
Fortunately, our hard working groundsman has been keeping the course maintained and he will only need a few days to make the course playable. The course is looking in great shape and the absence of golf has allowed the tee’s and fairways to recover nicely.
We will be implementing strict safety measures which we hope will keep our members safe. Players will only be allowed to go round on their own, or as a two-ball, and normal social distancing must apply. Members are asked to strictly adhere to these rules.
The clubhouse will be closed and members will need to change their shoes in the car park. For the time being we are not able to offer green fees and therefore the course will only be available for use by current club members.
The bunkers will be classed as GUR and the rakes will be removed. The ball will be classed as ‘holed’ when the ball strikes the pin or the upturned cup. The pin should be left in the hole.
So, the Trustees and advisory Team are working through all of the ‘details’ that the Government’s latest policies imply. But we still need to ‘check off’ a few more details before we can re-open safely.
We do expect the course to be busy with runners and walkers, enjoying their daily exercise, and we would ask all members to be patient and respect their presence.
