Men's Bulldog Cup

This is another scratch competition – but Matchplay knockout – so it is played over the course of the summer.  There is no seeding, and the club’s best players may be drawn together in the first round, but ultimately, the winner is usually the lowest handicap player in the club.  Until 2019 the final was contested over 36 holes but it is now an 18 hole shootout.

The most prolific winner of the Bulldog Cup is Dave smith who won the trophy eight times, including a run of five consecutive titles from 2002.

The trophy was presented to the club by Peter Churchill Snr, club member in the 1970’s, who was frequently was seen walking his bulldog around the course!

The current champion is Mike Freeman, who has won the trophy four times over a span of 39 years!
