Monday night league - week 6

Golf Club and Yerrells teams have now distanced themselves at the top of the league!

The local derby between Ley Hill Golf Club and Ley Hill Cricket Club was a closely fought affair, but the cricketers finally succumbed 54-51.  Captain Alison Webber led from the front with 24pts, the best score so far in the league.  Yerrells are hot on their heels, and must rue the first week, where they gifted the Golf Club a walkover.

The Ley Hill School side finally broke their duck, and recorded their first point, as they tied with the Junior side.  Edward Lees-Millais (17pts) was the leading School player while Freddie Passingham recorded a fine 17pts from his 7 handicap.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the night was the defeat of 1879 Tennis Club to the Golden Eagle side.  John Basson (18pts) and John Harris (17pts) put in a steady performances to carry the pub team over the line.  Berko Rangers maintained their league ambitions with a 44-41 win over West Herts, mostly thanks to the ever consistent Phil Bandy who recorded another 19 points.

There are no matches next week due to course maintenance, but the league will resume on July 7th.

Note the revised fixture list!
