Monday night league - week 3

The Chesham & Ley Hill Golf Club team cemented their lead after the round 3 matches on Monday night. Team captain Alison Webber led from the front with 16 points, as they narrowly defeated the Golden Eagle Pub by 48 to 46 points to maintain their 100% record.  The nights closest match was between 1879 Tennis Club and Ley Hill Cricket Club. The Tennis side narrowly defeated the Cricketers by a single point, despite a fine 19 points from Cricketers captain Mike Lagdon.

Berkhamsted Driving Range are the only other undefeated team as they beat Bovingdon FC by 50 points to 42. Once again it was the ever consistent Phil Bandy who returned his third 19 point haul.  The nights feature game was Yerrells Flooring vs Juniors. Unfortunately the juniors were not at their best, and Yerrells cruised to a 52-47 win, thanks to steady performances from Matt Yerrell (18 pts) and Callum Rutley (19 pts).

In the final match, West Herts defeated Ley Hill School by 43-34. Mark Thomas (18 pts) was the leading scorer, and his round included three birdies. Nearest the pin was won by Golden Eagle’s Simon Bowller. Mens’ longest drive was Ian Birkett and ladies longest drive was Julia Yerrell.

The next round of matches will be Monday June 9th.
