Murdoch Cup

The Murdoch Cup is a men’s singles handicap matchplay event that runs throughout the summer.

The most prolific winner was Dave Smith, who won eight times over a twenty year period between 1976 and 1996.

The Murdoch Cup was donated by George H.Barnes, long serving member of the club and Club Captain 1930-1931 and 1934, George and his brother Bob ran the Brittania Boot Factory in Addison Rd, Chesham. George was a fine footballer and a member of the successful Chesham United side of the early 1920’s. He married Miss D. Murdoch, Lady Captain in 1930-1931. She lived at Botley House, Botley Road.

The current champion is Ian Morris.
