The Well Wishers Cup is the oldest competition in the ladies calendar; it has been running since 1931.  It’s a Matchplay knock-out competition that runs throughout the summer.  The cup was presented to the club by Mrs M.Wilson in 1966, the same year she won the competition.

Unlike the men’s Captain’s Prize, this ladies competition was suspended during the Second World War.  After the 1939 edition the competition did not resume until 1947.

Marilyn Carter is the most prolific winner having won the competition six times over a nineteen year period.
